I agree with you all - if it helps - it is something we can give back to others. Medical Research and Studies can take YEARS - EVEN decades. It is highly unusual if a discovery is made and they find a cure or a miracle drug to help people. Example - even with all the experimental drugs out there that helped HIV - better than it was in 1985 - but that was only 18 years ago and they are still researching. Plus, I think there have been more who have contracted HIV than CDH - so, you see what I mean - they have more patients to work with. I wanted to participate but because we didn't have a sample of Cecilia's we couldn't. Oh, well. Any other way I can help - they know I am willing. These are studies done through different hospitals and Labs that might just be on to something. Even if it rules out genetic links - hey, that means that we will not have to look down that road. I think as soon as we know of information for studies, we should try to make sure all know so if they choose to participate they can! This way, we don't get into the Federal Medical Information Act.
