Re: Elizabeth - meaning of bee

Hi Kim,

The spring after Cecilia died, I was gardening (something I love to
do - and people think I have a green thumb but the only INDOOR plant
I have kept for some time is a Hibiscus - that has Cecilia meaning
too!)

I was getting a lot of support from the members of CHERUBS and I
compared the organization then to a "Spring Garden" - and the pansies
were survivors (don't let the name fool you pansies will survive in
sub-zero temps) and the daffodils and iris were the parents and the
butterflies and bees were the angels. Well I said Cecilia had to be
a bumble bee. You see I knew that Bumble Bees are a question of
science. Engineers will tell you a bumble bee shouldn't be able to
FLY. Their wings are too small for their bodies. Well, tell a
bumble bee it can't fly. Or tell my daughter she couldn't live, she
couldn't trial off of ECMO after 32 days or the various things that
had the doctors in awe.

Stacy posted other things about bumble bees - I never knew! They are
said to be the only insect allowed in heaven. I had chills as I read
that post.

Also - at the time that spring - I had not thought of a symbol for
her. It just sort of happened. After, bumble bees seemed to follow
me around. I later learned that it is something in grief therapy
they will ask you to try to do - pick something from nature that
reminds you of your lost loved one. This way - you can remember them
by seeing that something from nature.

From all the things folks have sent me and I have collected - at work
I have the Anne Geddes picture of the babies in bumble bee costumes
because putting up Cecilia's picture might freak someone out - I
think I need a room just for my bumble bee things! ;-)

I also think the idea of the bumble bee fits all our children - they
do these amazing things and still do - and it is despite those little
wings!

Hugs,
Elizabeth, proud Mom of Rachel 6/6/85; Cecilia 11/2/99-12/10/99 &

there a meaning behind the bee? I know Cecelia was/is quite the
