Subject: Petitions - and so on Date: Wed, 30 May 2001 20:00:18 EDT From: DoyleEW@aol.com To: dawntorrence@cherubs-cdh.org Dawn, I informed the medical professionals I know about the petitions and I was in awe. The most arrogant surgeon at UVA - emailed me back first - telling me he "admired the work that CHERUBS is doing" and he would be in "full support"! People amaze us sometimes! Then Dr. Rogers made a very valid point, that I hope you don't find offensive. Sometimes these things become muddled up in the hands of politicians - to the point that it protects no one and hurts medical professionals from doing their jobs and patients in the end too. An example, and I know this is a hard one for us all, is the abortion issue and the restrictions that states have placed on the doctors and the patients too. Some of the laws are just too much. I did explain to Dr. Rogers that this was just Petition Form - and also sent him the link to the site. I agree, we don't want this to be muddled up to the point that it isn't helping anyone. Then, I know you - you would turn into that Tigress and prevent that from happening. I just wanted you to know the feedback so far. Hugs, Elizabeth
