Expecting Again After Having A Cherub

Cherub Alexander HunterTo many parents, the thought of having another baby is terrifying.   They fear having another sick baby or losing another child.   These are completely normal feelings and truly justified after having a baby born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.

One of the most common questions that we are asked at CHERUBS is "What are my odds of having another baby with CDH?".    Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will not have another cherub but we can tell you that the odds are very low for most families at just 2%.   Each family's odds are different - we highly recommend that all CDH families visit a genetic counselor whether or not they chose to have more children.

We know that subsequent pregnancies are very, very stressful for most CDH parents so we have created a forum that allows you to talk to other families and to ask questions and gain support throughout your pregnancy.
